Q: Which is your race hotel?
A: Our race hotel is the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai. Your best option is to book this hotel for the race by choosing “Race Fee with Full Race Package (Hotel & Stage Transfers)“. This includes 4 nights at the Kantary for 1 or 2 persons including the early American Breakfast Buffet.
Q: I want to share my room at the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai with my friend who is racing as well?
A: After you booked the Full Race Package, your friend chooses the option: “Race Fee & Stage Transfer Package for any rider sharing a pre-booked room at Kantary Hills Chiang Mai”
Q: Is it possible to share my room at the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai with another person who will not participate in the race?
A: Yes. After you booked the option “Race Fee with Full Race Package (Hotel & Stage Transfers)“, there is no extra charge for a second person. If this person requires stage transfers without a bike, please let us know by mail.
Q: Can I fly in early or leave later?
A: Certainly yes. We have reserved a number of rooms at the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai Hotel at low rates from October 07-31, 2024 so you may book several nights before and after the race if you want to stay longer. Book extra nights in a studio suite or one bedroom suite.
Q: Where should I stay?
A: MTCM’s best choice has been the Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai as they provide the best service for us cyclists during the race. However, if you prefer to find your own accommodation we suggest you choose rooms in Nimmanhaemin area, as that is closest to our race headquarters and provides best options for restaurants and coffee shops.
Q: Can I bring my family?
A: Yes of course – the rooms at the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai are very spacious, especially the “One Bedroom Suite”. We recommend you book a van and driver with us, so they can follow you to Start and Finish lines, or do other excursions in the afternoons. Send us an email to book your van & driver.
Q: Can I book the Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai through a hotel booking engine such as Agoda or Booking?
A: We would strongly recommend to ONLY book the hotel through us. By doing so, you are supporting us to pay the costs of the race. Also by booking through us, you would benefit from the early breakfast during the race days as to the free access to the Executive Lounge with complimentary coffee, tea, dry snacks and cookies.
We try to be as competitive as possible to the rates offered by the aforementioned booking engines.
Q: Can I cancel my race and/or hotel booking once entered?
A: Yes, feel free to cancel your race participation and/or the hotel booking.

A: No. You may get an inexpensive taxi at the airport. Upon departure, the hotel staff will gladly help you organizing the airport transfer.
Price & Discount Questions
Q: I am a Thai National. Do I have to pay the same price?
A: No. As a Thai National you are entitled to a 30% discount on the race fee. Please create your profile and log in before registering for the race. Once you created your account with MTCM, your discount will apply automatically.
Q: I’m managing a team of Thai and Ex-Pat riders. Do I have to pay the same price?
A: No. Registering a team of at least 4 Thai and/or Ex-Pat riders you are entitled to a 40% discount on the race fee. Ex-Pats have to show proof of their long-term visa or residency in Thailand. Please register and select “Yes” to being a team manager. Then enter the name of your team. Discounts will then apply automatically.
Q: Under what conditions can I register a team in order to get the 40% discount on the race fee?
A: Your team has to consist of at least 4 Thai and/or Ex-Pat riders. They need to have the same team jersey. They can register across different age groups.
Q: I’m an Ex-Pat rider and want to ride as an individual. Can I get any discount on the race fee?
A: No. Discounts only apply for teams of at least 4 Thai and/or Ex-Pat riders registered by their team manager. Thank you for your understanding.
Q: What currencies can I pay in?
A: At the bottom of the website you can select which currency you pay in. (Options: THB, SGD,EUR,AUD,USD, GBP, HKD)
Race Questions
Q: Do I need an SCF or UCI license to compete?
A: No. Masters Tour of Chiang Mai is sanctioned by the Thai Cycling Federation, yet no UCI license is required.
Q: What rules apply for the Masters Tour of Chiang Mai?

Q: Can I ride in a different age group?
A: Please feel free to register for any younger Masters age group. However, the race in any age category will be very competitive as usual, so from a sporting point of view there is no need to “upgrade”.
Q: Once entered, can I change my race category?
A: Yes. You may change your category until October 12, 2023.
Q: Do I need travel / medical insurance to race?
A: We would strongly encourage it! By registering for the race, you will accept to take part at your own risk & peril. We as the organizers can’t be held liable for any race-related or non race-related incidents.
Q: Do you have medics on hand in case of emergency?
A: Yes we have a full medical team stationed at the event and ambulances on standby.
Q: Will there be race prizes?
A: Yes, there will be daily prizes for the top 5 in each tour category, plus a yellow jersey for the for each category tour leader to be worn on the next stage. Tour winners will receive a tour trophy at the final prize giving on Sunday.
Q: When do I have to be at the Mercure Hotel, our race venue, before the event?
A: Check-In and distribution of the race package will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023, 4:00 pm, followed by the race briefing. Please be at the race start by 07:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Q: Will you have water bottle and neutral wheel support?
A: Yes, there will be several motorbikes per peloton providing water. Due to the wide variety of non-disc and disc wheels with discs of different sizes, we cannot have neutral wheel support motor bikes following the riders. However, we will try to have at least one pickup truck behind every peloton with wheels. (TBD)
Q: What time will everything end on Monday, October 23, 2023?
A: We are aiming to have Doi Suthep ITT and prize giving completed by 11:30 am.
